Zendesk charges per agent per month: on November 4, 2026, [Zendesk's pricing page](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/) listed Support Team at $19, Suite Team at $55 and Suite Professional at $115 per agent a month with annual billing, or $25, $69 and $149 with monthly billing. Suite Enterprise + Copilot is quoted by sales. AI agent resolutions above your plan's allowance, Copilot and the other add-ons are billed on top of the seats.

This guide reads Zendesk's pricing page, its [Help Center](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us) and its [Shopify App Store listing](https://apps.shopify.com/zendesk) as they stood on November 4, 2026. Prices are the US ones, in dollars: the [pricing FAQ](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/) lists USD, EUR, GBP and BRL as supported currencies. It is written for e-commerce support teams: the price of each plan per agent, monthly against annual billing, how AI agents are billed, and what a team of 3 or 10 agents pays in a year.

## How much does Zendesk cost?

The US pricing page shows four Customer Service plans. Three have a published price per agent; the fourth goes through sales.

| Plan | Billed yearly (per agent a month) | Billed monthly (per agent a month) | What Zendesk lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Support Team | $19 | $25 | Email and ticketing system, ticket routing, prebuilt analytics dashboards, pre-written responses, customer context, automations and triggers |
| Suite Team | $55 | $69 | Support Team features plus AI agents, knowledge base, Action Builder, omnichannel routing, messaging and live chat, telephony |
| Suite Professional | $115 | $149 | Suite Team features plus Admin Copilot, App Builder, AI writing tools, quick reports, skills-based routing, IVR phone tree |
| Suite Enterprise + Copilot | Talk to sales | Talk to sales | Suite Professional features plus intelligent triage, auto assist, generative AI for voice, approval workflows, sandbox, custom agent roles |

The page tags Suite Professional "Most Popular". Its FAQ adds that enterprise plans generally require sales engagement, and that you can buy online by card or through sales, paying by bank account, card or PayPal.

**Support or Suite.** In Zendesk's own words, the Support plan is a place to begin with email-based customer support, and the Suite is its all-in-one solution with ticketing, messaging, live chat, help center and voice. For an online store, the deciding line can be social messaging: the [plan comparison](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/) lists social and business channels (Facebook, Instagram, X and messaging apps such as WhatsApp) on Suite Team and Suite Professional, not on Support Team, and notes that additional fees apply.

## Which other Zendesk plans exist?

Zendesk sells more plans than the pricing page displays. Its Help Center lists three current [Support plans](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408893293466) (Team, Professional and Enterprise), each available as a stand-alone plan, and five current [Suite plans](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408846875034) (Team, Growth, Professional, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus). Of the Support plans, only Support Team has a published price on the US pricing page.

The Shopify App Store listing shows a third lineup, all per agent a month billed annually:

| Plan on the App Store listing | Price billed annually | Trial |
|---|---|---|
| Suite Team | $55 | 14 days |
| Suite Growth | $89 | 14 days |
| Suite Professional | $115 | 14 days |
| Suite Enterprise | $150 | 14 days |

_Source: [Zendesk on the Shopify App Store](https://apps.shopify.com/zendesk), pricing section, read on November 4, 2026. The listing states that all charges are billed in USD and that external charges may be billed by Zendesk separately from your Shopify invoice._

Suite Team and Suite Professional cost the same in both places. For Support Professional, Support Enterprise, Suite Growth or Suite Enterprise, ask Zendesk for a written quote before you budget on a number from the listing.

## Is Zendesk cheaper with annual billing?

Yes. The billing toggle on [Zendesk's pricing page](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/) reads "20% off annual", and the gap per plan, computed from the prices it displays, runs from 20% to 24%:

| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Saving per agent a month | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Support Team | $25 | $19 | $6 | 24% |
| Suite Team | $69 | $55 | $14 | 20% |
| Suite Professional | $149 | $115 | $34 | 23% |

_Calculated from the [Zendesk pricing page](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/), read on November 4, 2026._

The contract rules that come with the choice:

- **Terms.** The [pricing FAQ](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/) lists month-to-month, annual and multi-year subscriptions, and says plan changes may apply immediately or at renewal depending on your subscription terms.
- **Cancelling.** Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, and you must notify Zendesk at least 30 days before the end of your subscription term, according to its [cancellation article](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408834902810). For self-service customers, cancelling in Admin Center counts as notice.
- **Removing seats.** Self-service accounts can remove agent seats, but Zendesk online-assisted accounts cannot, according to its [article on agent seats](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408881540506). If you add agents for the holiday season, check how your account type handles seat removal before you buy them on an annual term.

## How much do Zendesk AI agents cost?

The [pricing FAQ](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/) says AI agents are included in every Suite and Support plan, priced on automated resolutions: you pay only for customer requests the AI agent resolved without escalation to a human agent. Two billing models currently coexist, and the Help Center explains how to tell which one your account has.

### The automated resolutions model

This is the model the pricing page shows:

| Plan | Automated resolutions included | Extra resolutions |
|---|---|---|
| Support Team | 5 per agent a month | $1.50 committed, $2.00 pay-as-you-go |
| Suite Team | 5 per agent a month | $1.50 committed, $2.00 pay-as-you-go |
| Suite Professional | 10 per agent a month | $1.50 committed, $2.00 pay-as-you-go |
| Suite and Support Enterprise | 15 per agent a month | Not shown on the pricing page |

_Sources: [Zendesk pricing page](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/), plan comparison, and [Help Center article on automated resolutions](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/5352026794010) for the Enterprise allocation, read on November 4, 2026._

![Zendesk Help Center article with the default allocation of automated resolutions per plan: 5 per agent on Team, 10 on Professional and Growth, 15 on Enterprise](https://getkanal.com/images/screenshots/zendesk-help-automated-resolutions-per-plan-nov04.webp)

The [same Help Center article](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/5352026794010) sets the rules:

- **The allocation is yearly.** It expires annually, or at the end of a shorter subscription term, and every plan is capped at 10,000 allocated resolutions a year. Light agents are not counted in the allocation.
- **Committing is cheaper than overage.** You can raise your allocation by buying 100 or more resolutions ahead of time, which Zendesk says gives a better price per resolution than pay-as-you-go.
- **Overage is billed monthly,** whatever your subscription term. You can instead limit the resolutions available and pause AI agents when you reach the limit.
- **Each resolution is checked.** A large language model verifies that the request was resolved without a human; conversations that fail the check do not consume a resolution.

### The resolution tiers model

On May 18, 2026, Zendesk introduced [resolution tiers](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/9570369117338). A conversation is classed as an assisted escalation, a contained resolution or a verified resolution, and the first two do not count against your allowance. The allowance itself is a dollar budget, set per agent seat by plan, according to Zendesk's [article on resolution allowances](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/10479587390106):

| Plan | Default resolution allowance |
|---|---|
| Suite Team | $2 per agent seat a month |
| Suite Growth and Suite Professional | $5 per agent seat a month |
| Suite Enterprise and Enterprise Plus | $10 per agent seat a month |
| Support Team, Professional and Enterprise | $2 per agent seat a month |

_Source: [Zendesk Help Center, managing resolution allowances](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/10479587390106), read on November 4, 2026._

![Zendesk Help Center table of the default resolution allowance per plan, from $2 to $10 per agent seat per month](https://getkanal.com/images/screenshots/zendesk-help-resolution-allowance-per-plan-nov04.webp)

The [same article](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/10479587390106) caps the allowance at $5,000 a year for all plans, says monthly allowances do not carry over, and sets "allow overage" as the default response when the allowance runs out. The Help Center does not publish the price of each tier: its [upgrade article](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/10479528943130) states that the prices in its examples are placeholders, so ask Zendesk for the rates on your contract. Zendesk gives 30 days' notice before moving an account to this model, typically at renewal, according to its [usage documentation page](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/10702364146842).

To see which model you are on, open Admin Center: Account, then Usage. An "Automated resolutions" dashboard means the first model; "Resolutions" and a Billing > Resolution allowance page mean the tiers.

For an online store, order status questions are usually the first candidates for an AI agent. Our guide to [where is my order requests](https://getkanal.com/blog/wismo-where-is-my-order) shows how to cut them before they become tickets.

## What do Copilot and the other add-ons cost?

The pricing page shows three featured add-ons, each priced per agent a month paid yearly:

| Add-on | Price | What Zendesk says it does |
|---|---|---|
| Copilot | $50 per agent a month | AI assistance for the whole team |
| Workforce Engagement Bundle | $50 per agent a month | Service quality and agent performance |
| Contact Center | $83 per agent a month | Complex contact centers |

_Source: [Zendesk pricing page](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/), featured add-ons, read on November 4, 2026._

Other costs the [pricing page](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/) flags:

- **Copilot on Suite Professional.** The plan includes Copilot writing tools, ticket summaries, merge suggestions and similar tickets at 5 uses per agent a month, pooled across the team and capped at 500 uses per Zendesk instance a month. Auto assist, suggested first replies and suggested macros are marked as add-ons on that plan.
- **Usage-based features.** App Builder, Action Builder and Voice are billed on consumption above your plan's allowances.
- **Channels.** Text messages, local and toll-free numbers and call minutes are add-ons on the Suite plans, and social and business channels carry additional fees.
- **Quality assurance.** Automatic scoring of conversations requires the QA add-on.
- **Trial.** The 14-day trial gives access to all Suite Professional features, with Copilot included by default.

## What does an e-commerce team of 3 or 10 agents pay?

The stores are fictional. The first table counts seats only, at the prices displayed on November 4, 2026.

| Plan | 3 agents, annual billing | 3 agents, monthly billing | 10 agents, annual billing | 10 agents, monthly billing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Support Team | $684 a year | $900 a year | $2,280 a year | $3,000 a year |
| Suite Team | $1,980 a year | $2,484 a year | $6,600 a year | $8,280 a year |
| Suite Professional | $4,140 a year | $5,364 a year | $13,800 a year | $17,880 a year |

_Agents × price per agent × 12, from the [Zendesk pricing page](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/), read on November 4, 2026. AI resolutions above the allowance and add-ons are not included._

**Store A: 3 agents on Suite Team, annual billing.** The team wants chat and WhatsApp next to email, so Support Team is out. Its AI agent resolves 100 conversations a month.

- Seats: 3 × $55 × 12 = **$1,980** a year.
- Included resolutions: 3 × 5 = 15 a month. The other 85 cost 85 × $1.50 = $127.50 a month committed, or 85 × $2.00 = $170 pay-as-you-go.
- Year total: $1,980 + 12 × $127.50 = **$3,510** committed, or $1,980 + 12 × $170 = **$4,020** pay-as-you-go.

**Store B: 10 agents on Suite Professional, annual billing, Copilot for everyone.** The AI agent resolves 400 conversations a month.

- Seats: 10 × $115 × 12 = **$13,800** a year.
- Copilot: 10 × $50 × 12 = **$6,000** a year.
- Included resolutions: 10 × 10 = 100 a month. The other 300 cost 300 × $1.50 = $450 a month committed, or $5,400 a year.
- Year total: $13,800 + $6,000 + $5,400 = **$25,200**, or $2,100 a month. Pay-as-you-go resolutions (300 × $2.00 × 12 = $7,200) bring it to **$27,000**.

The AI lines use the automated resolutions model. On the resolution tiers model, Store B would get 10 × $5 = $50 of allowance a month, and the rest would depend on tier rates Zendesk does not publish.

Gorgias bills on tickets rather than on agents, so which of the two costs less depends on how many tickets each agent answers. Our [Gorgias vs Zendesk comparison](https://getkanal.com/blog/gorgias-vs-zendesk) runs both at three team sizes, and our [Gorgias pricing guide](https://getkanal.com/blog/gorgias-pricing) details its plans.

## How do you check your own Zendesk cost?

1. **Count your full agents.** Zendesk prices each agent seat, and the AI allocation is calculated on agent seats, not on light agents.
2. **List your channels.** Email only fits Support Team. Chat, WhatsApp and other social channels, a help center or phone point to a Suite plan.
3. **Pick the billing.** Multiply your seats by both prices in the table above and compare the 12-month totals with how stable your team is.
4. **Estimate AI resolutions.** Pull a month of tickets and count the repetitive ones (order status, shipping, returns). Our guide to [e-commerce customer service](https://getkanal.com/blog/ecommerce-customer-service) sorts the usual requests into what to automate and what to keep with agents.
5. **Check your AI billing model** in Admin Center, then ask sales for committed resolution or tier prices at your volume.
6. **Set the overage response** before peak season: allow overage, or pause AI agents at the limit.
7. **Check the Shopify connection.** Zendesk's [Shopify integration article](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408837984026) shows Shopify orders in tickets and lets agents refund or cancel orders from the ticket; Support customers must also have Chat to use it.
8. **Compare other helpdesks.** Our ranking of the [best Shopify customer service apps](https://getkanal.com/best-shopify-apps/best-shopify-customer-service-apps) lists their prices and billing bases.

## Where does WhatsApp fit in a Zendesk setup?

Zendesk lists WhatsApp among the social and business channels of its Suite plans, with additional fees, on its [plan comparison](https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/). Stores that also send WhatsApp marketing messages, such as campaigns, cart reminders or shipping updates, get replies to those messages, and those replies need to reach the same support team.

Kanal, our WhatsApp marketing app for Shopify, connects to Zendesk. With the [Kanal and Zendesk integration](https://getkanal.com/integrations/zendesk), WhatsApp conversations arrive in Zendesk as tickets, and agent replies written in Zendesk are sent back to the customer on WhatsApp. Your existing Zendesk triggers, automations, macros and views apply to those tickets, they follow your SLA policies, and they are assigned by your routing rules, whether round-robin, skills-based or manual.

Kanal handles the WhatsApp side: WhatsApp campaigns, abandoned cart recovery, order notifications and back in stock alerts, with revenue tracked per message. It installs from the [Shopify App Store](https://apps.shopify.com/kanal-marketing-ai), where it is rated 5.0. On our [pricing page](https://getkanal.com/pricing) on November 4, 2026, Pro cost €89 a month, Scale €149 and Business €350, and Meta bills WhatsApp messages on top. Our guide to [WhatsApp customer support on Shopify](https://getkanal.com/blog/whatsapp-customer-support-shopify) covers how to organize the workflow.

Zendesk's bill is seats first: the plan your channels require, times your agents, at the monthly or annual rate. AI resolutions and add-ons come next, and they can approach the cost of the seats, as Store B shows. Count your agents and your repetitive tickets, check which AI billing model your account uses, and ask for a written quote for any plan the pricing page does not price.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much does Zendesk cost per month?

Zendesk charges per agent per month. On its US pricing page on November 4, 2026, Support Team cost $19, Suite Team $55 and Suite Professional $115 per agent a month with annual billing, or $25, $69 and $149 with monthly billing. Suite Enterprise + Copilot is quoted by sales. AI resolutions above your plan's allowance and add-ons such as Copilot, at $50 per agent a month paid yearly, are billed on top.

### Does Zendesk have a free plan?

The pricing page did not list a free Customer Service plan on November 4, 2026, apart from a program for qualified startups. It offers a 14-day free trial with access to all Suite Professional features, and Copilot included by default; to trial another plan, Zendesk asks you to contact it. After the trial, the lowest published price is Support Team at $19 per agent a month billed yearly.

### How much do Zendesk AI agents cost?

AI agents come with every Suite and Support plan and are billed per automated resolution, a request the AI agent resolves without handing over to a human. On November 4, 2026, the pricing page listed 5 included resolutions per agent a month on Support Team and Suite Team and 10 on Suite Professional, then $1.50 per committed resolution or $2.00 pay-as-you-go. Accounts moved to resolution tiers get a dollar allowance per agent seat instead.

### What is the difference between Zendesk Support and Zendesk Suite?

Zendesk describes Support as the place to start with email-based customer support, and the Suite as its all-in-one plan with ticketing, messaging, live chat, a help center and voice. Its plan comparison lists social and business channels, including WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, on Suite Team and Suite Professional but not on Support Team. On November 4, 2026, Support Team cost $19 and Suite Team $55 per agent a month billed yearly.

### How much does Zendesk cost for 10 agents?

With monthly billing, the same seats cost $3,000, $8,280 and $17,880 a year. AI resolutions beyond the included allowance and add-ons are extra.

### Can Zendesk handle WhatsApp messages?

Yes. Zendesk's plan comparison lists messaging apps such as WhatsApp among the social and business channels of Suite Team and Suite Professional, with a note that additional fees apply. If your store runs WhatsApp marketing with Kanal, its Zendesk integration turns incoming WhatsApp messages into Zendesk tickets, and agent replies in Zendesk go back to the customer on WhatsApp.
