# Carousel template

A carousel template is a WhatsApp marketing template that shows a row of 2 to 10 cards the customer swipes through, each with its own image or video and its own buttons, in a single message.

A carousel combines a message body with a set of media cards. Each card has an image or video header, optional body text and up to two buttons, which can be quick replies, URL buttons or phone number buttons. All cards must share the same structure.

Two constraints come from Meta's documentation: carousel cards are only available for marketing templates, and the number of cards (minimum 2, maximum 10) is fixed when the template is created, so an approved template always sends the same number of cards. A URL button opens the link in the phone's browser; a separate product card carousel keeps the shopper inside WhatsApp with catalog products.

For e-commerce, a carousel turns a campaign into a browsable shelf: new arrivals, a collection, or a restock roundup, each card pointing to its product page. It is priced as one marketing message, like any other marketing template.
