Verification on WhatsApp used to be the discretionary green tick, granted to notable brands. Meta Verified turns verification into a subscription: the business pays a monthly fee, proves its authenticity, and receives the badge, which now follows the blue check design Meta uses across Facebook and Instagram.
Depending on the plan and the market, the subscription bundles more than the badge: protection against impersonation, access to enhanced account support, and extra business features on top of the app experience.
The badge is a trust marker, not a performance lever: it does not change messaging limits or pricing. It matters most for brands exposed to impersonation, where visible verification helps customers spot the real account.
