Quick answer
Judge.me Email Marketing is the second product from Judge.me, the Shopify reviews company. It sends email automations, campaigns, newsletters and sign-up popups from your Shopify customer data. Pricing is built around volume: the first 15,000 emails a month are free, then $0.15 per 1,000 emails, on a $0 or $15 monthly plan. It covers email only. For the conversations that happen on WhatsApp, such as cart reminders, restock alerts and review requests, our pick is Kanal, which also syncs the reviews it collects with Judge.me.
What Judge.me announced
Judge.me has built its name on product reviews for Shopify: its Product Reviews app shows more than 46,000 reviews on the Shopify App Store. On September 1, 2026, founder PJ Celis announced on X that the company was adding a second product, opening with "After 12 years of being focused on just reviews". In the same post, he summed up the pricing (0 to 15 USD a month for features, 15,000 free emails a month, then 15 cents per 1,000 emails) and presented it as ten times cheaper than the competition.

The app itself went live on the Shopify App Store earlier: its listing shows a launch date of July 14, 2026. When we checked on September 11, it had a 4.7 rating from 7 reviews, which is normal for a new app and still too few to judge.
What Judge.me Email Marketing does

The listing sums the product up as "email marketing, done well". Here is what it describes:
- Ready-to-use automations: six of them on the free plan, from welcome emails to abandoned checkout recovery and back in stock emails, plus win-back emails and product recommendations.
- Campaigns and newsletters in three steps: pick the audience, edit the content, send.
- No second database: it works directly with your Shopify customer data and segments, so there is no duplicate list to sync.
- Sign-up popups with discount codes to grow your list from the storefront.
- Deliverability: deliverability checks, double opt-in and consent synced with your store.
- Reporting: revenue analytics for every send, with branded, reusable email templates.
- Support: the listing says the support team is available 24/7.
Two details to note before you install: the listing names English as the app's only language, and it lists the Shopify admin as its only integration.
Pricing: 15,000 free emails a month, then $0.15 per 1,000

The listing shows two plans, both "plus usage charges":
| Plan | Monthly fee | Emails included | Beyond that | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Forever Free | $0 | 15,000 a month | $0.15 per 1,000 emails | Automations, campaigns, popups, templates, revenue analytics |
| Awesome | $15 | 15,000 a month | $0.15 per 1,000 emails | Everything in Forever Free, plus a custom domain and no Judge.me branding |
What that means at a few volumes, calculated from the listed prices:
| Emails sent per month | Forever Free | Awesome |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $0 | $15 |
| 50,000 | $5.25 | $20.25 |
| 200,000 | $27.75 | $42.75 |
How the pricing compares
The founder's "10x cheaper" claim depends on the volume and on the tools you compare, so here are the pricing models side by side, from each vendor's own pages:
- Judge.me Email bills the emails you send beyond 15,000 a month, at $0.15 per 1,000.
- Shopify Messaging, Shopify's own tool, includes 10,000 emails a month, then charges $1 per 1,000 emails up to 300,000, with lower rates above. At 50,000 emails, that is $40, against $5.25 in usage on Judge.me Email.
- Klaviyo prices its plans on active profiles rather than sends: its pricing page showed the Email plan at $20 a month for 500 active profiles and $30 for 1,000 when we checked, with SMS, WhatsApp and push available on the same platform.
Price is only one line of the comparison. Check the automations you actually run, the reporting you need and the channels you use before you move a working email program.
What it does not cover
Judge.me Email is an email tool. Its listing does not mention SMS or WhatsApp, and the app is new: the feature set and the number of reviews will grow. If part of your customers reply on WhatsApp rather than open emails, email alone leaves that channel empty.
Where WhatsApp fits next to Judge.me Email
A cheaper email tool is good news for every Shopify store. The high-intent moments, like an abandoned cart, a restock or a question before checkout, often move faster in a conversation. That is the job of Kanal, a WhatsApp marketing and automation platform for e-commerce brands:
The Kanal app: automations list.
- Abandoned cart recovery on WhatsApp, with product images, names and prices.
- Back in stock alerts with one-tap opt-in and a direct buy link.
- Review requests on WhatsApp after delivery, with photos and videos, and the collected reviews sync with Judge.me, Loox and Shopify native reviews. If Judge.me already runs your reviews, Kanal feeds it.
- WhatsApp campaigns with images and buttons, and revenue tracked per campaign.
Kanal starts from $89/month with no commitment, and Meta's WhatsApp fees are passed through at cost. A simple split works well: Judge.me Email for newsletters and email flows, Kanal for the moments where a reply sells.
Should you switch?
Start from your own numbers:
- Your monthly sending volume. Under 15,000 emails a month, the Forever Free plan covers the sends; above that, multiply by $0.15 per 1,000.
- The flows you run today. List them and check each one against the six automations and the campaign builder on the listing.
- Your brand setup. Sending from your own domain and removing the Judge.me branding requires the Awesome plan.
- Your channels. If WhatsApp matters for your customers, plan it next to your email tool from the start.
