Key takeaways
- The right Wati alternative depends on what you want to change: the message rates, the plan limits, or a tool built for online stores rather than for every industry.
- For an online store, our pick is Kanal: WhatsApp campaigns, automations that start from store events and a team inbox, used by 500+ brands, from €89 a month with Meta's fees passed through at cost.
- Wati's Growth plan was $69 a month on October 30, 2026, and its Growth and Pro rate card lists 1.6 times Meta's rate for a marketing message in the UK, France, Germany and Brazil.
- Few of these tools are built for stores: Kanal and Zoko are, Interakt, AiSensy, SleekFlow, respond.io, Gallabox and Trengo are general tools, and 360dialog and Twilio are APIs for developers.
- Meta does not currently deliver marketing templates to US phone numbers, whichever provider you choose.
The right Wati alternative depends on what you want to change: the per-message rates, the plan limits, or a tool built for online stores rather than for every industry. For an online store, our pick is Kanal: WhatsApp campaigns, automations that start from store events and a team inbox, used by 500+ brands, from €89 a month with Meta's fees passed through at cost. It goes deepest on Shopify and also connects PrestaShop stores.
We compared 10 Wati alternatives on what they are built for, what they charge for and the entry price on their own pages on October 30, 2026. Zoko is the other tool here built around online stores. Interakt, AiSensy, SleekFlow, respond.io, Gallabox and Trengo are general tools that connect to Shopify in different ways, and 360dialog and Twilio are APIs for developers. Why merchants look at Wati alternatives
Wati is a WhatsApp Business API platform for many industries: its site lists e-learning, marketing agencies and healthcare next to e-commerce. Everything below comes from Wati's own pricing page, rate card, terms, help center and Shopify App Store listing, read on October 30, 2026.
Plans come with usage limits
On its Shopify App Store listing, Wati shows Growth at $69/month, Pro at $149/month and Business at $349/month, or $708, $1,428 and $3,348 a year, with a 7-day free trial. Its pricing page is served by country. Read from France, it shows the same figures in euros, and €59, €119 and €279 a month on annual billing.
| Included | Growth | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Users | 3, no extra seats | 5, extra users €39 each | 5, extra users €89 each |
| Broadcasts a month | 15,000 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Automation triggers a month | 1,000 | 2,000 | 5,000 |
| Wati AI credits a month | 250 | 500 | 1,500 |
| Integrations | 2 | 5, including HubSpot | Unlimited, including Salesforce |
Each time a chatbot, keyword or other rule runs for a customer, it uses one automation trigger. Wati's FAQ says that beyond your allowance you reply manually, or you buy more: €35 a month for 1,000 triggers and €25 a month for 1,000 AI credits on the pricing page ($40 and $30 per 1,000 on the Shopify listing, which also shows extra users at $89 on Pro and Business). The add-ons on the pricing page also include a Shopify integration at $4.99 a month and an extra WhatsApp number at €29 a month, and Astra AI agents are priced separately. Its help center notes that recurring add-ons renew automatically until you remove them.

Message fees follow Wati's rate card
Wati bills messages from its own Growth and Pro rate card, dated October 1, 2026, with a lower card for Business. Here it is next to Meta's rate calculator on October 30, 2026, per delivered message in US dollars:
| Recipient | Marketing, Wati Growth and Pro | Marketing, Meta | Utility, Wati Growth and Pro | Utility, Meta |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | $0.1016 | $0.0635 | $0.0396 | $0.0220 |
| France | $0.1374 | $0.0859 | $0.0540 | $0.0300 |
| Germany | $0.2184 | $0.1365 | $0.0990 | $0.0550 |
| Brazil | $0.1000 | $0.0625 | $0.0122 | $0.0068 |
| United States (Meta: North America) | $0.0400, not delivered (see below) | $0.0250, not delivered | $0.0061 | $0.0034 |
On these markets, the Growth and Pro card is 1.6 times Meta's rate for a marketing message and about 1.8 times for a utility message. On the Business card, the same UK messages are $0.0902 and $0.0352. As an illustration, 5,000 marketing and 3,000 utility messages to UK numbers in a month come to $626.80 on the Growth and Pro card, and to $383.50 at Meta's rates.
The card does not say what the difference covers, and several tools in this list add a fee of their own, in other ways. So compare the plan and the message line together. Our WhatsApp Business pricing guide explains Meta's categories.
Terms worth reading before you renew
Wati's terms, last updated December 8, 2025, say subscriptions renew automatically, run until the end of their term and are non-refundable, unless the law requires a refund or you agreed otherwise in writing. Its pricing page adds that there are no cancellation fees and that you can cancel at any time. To cancel a paid plan, the help center asks you to contact the billing or support team at least 3 days before renewal and to export your data first, because the account becomes inaccessible immediately once cancelled. It also says there is no pause option, which matters for a seasonal store.
What public reviews say
Wati's Shopify App Store listing showed 3.7 out of 5 from 119 reviews on October 30, 2026, with 71% five-star ratings and 20% one-star ratings. Of the 10 reviews on the first page, 6 are positive and mention cart recovery, order updates, segmentation or the AI agent, and 4 describe support, billing or pricing problems. Wati answered 5 of the 10 publicly.

What Wati does well
Wati covers a lot of ground. Its Shopify listing describes abandoned cart recovery, carousel campaigns, AI agents and a shared inbox, with threads that follow a customer across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, RCS, SMS and calls. It syncs Shopify segments, puts chatbots, automation rules and AI agents in one flow builder, and tags the source of Click-to-WhatsApp ads. Its pricing page adds zero setup fees, help with official API access and blue tick verification, the WhatsApp Catalog and WhatsApp Business Calling. The Shopify app launched in September 2020, and merchants in its positive reviews mention cart recovery and order updates. If you need one tool across many channels and business lines, or you rely on its catalog or calling, those are good reasons to stay.
How we compared the tools
We read each vendor's pricing page, its Shopify App Store listing when it has one and its help pages on October 30, 2026, from France. Some pages adapt to the visitor's country, so we say which view we read. Each tool was checked on four points:
- Built for: online stores, or a general use with a store connection.
- What it charges for: plan, users, contacts, conversations, messages and add-ons.
- Entry price: the first paid plan shown, in the currency displayed, with the billing period.
- Shopify connection: the app or integration the vendor documents.
Kanal is our product. It comes first because it is the tool we recommend for online stores. The others follow by how close they are to a store's needs, and each entry stays factual. We did not assign scores. Prices change often, so check the vendor's page before you buy.

The 10 Wati alternatives in detail
1. Kanal, WhatsApp built for online stores
Kanal is a WhatsApp marketing and automation platform for online stores, used by 500+ brands. Wati serves many industries, while Kanal concentrates on turning WhatsApp into a sales channel for stores. It goes deepest on Shopify, where it installs from the Shopify App Store, and it also connects PrestaShop stores.
The Kanal app: automations.
- Channels: WhatsApp, with RCS and SMS included from the Scale plan and iMessage coming soon. Kanal does not send email.
- Automations: flows start from store events (order created, abandoned cart, shipping status), from a WhatsApp keyword or from an incoming webhook.
- Campaigns: sent to segments on order count, orders over a period, WhatsApp events, phone country or group membership, or to a Shopify or Klaviyo segment imported once at campaign time.
- Inbox and AI agent: a team inbox, and an AI agent on the Scale and Business plans that handles order tracking after checking the customer's email and order number. It never issues refunds, discounts or cancellations: those go to your team. AI replies are billed per reply.
- Integrations: Crisp, Gorgias, Klaviyo, Loyoly, PrestaShop, Recharge, Splio and Zendesk, plus Shopify.
- What it charges for: a monthly plan, from €89 a month as shown on our pricing page, plus Meta's fees, passed through at cost with no per-message markup.
- What to plan for: WhatsApp opt-in comes from wa.me links and QR codes, a widget, a pop-up, an import with consent or an automation action, because Kanal does not sync the Shopify checkout consent box. Kanal does not support the Meta catalog, WhatsApp Flows forms or the Conversions API.
Why it is first: it is built for online stores, with store events as triggers and Meta's rates as your message line.
2. Zoko, a Shopify app with pre-built flows
Zoko is a Shopify app for WhatsApp marketing, sales and support, with broadcasts to Shopify segments, a shared inbox and a catalog synced from Shopify. It is the other tool in this list built around online stores. Its Shopify listing showed 4.9 out of 5 from 466 reviews.
- Entry price: on Zoko's pricing page, Starter at $49.99/month, Plus at $79.99/month and Elite at $139.99/month, with a 7-day trial.
- What it charges for: a Zoko fee per conversation (a 24-hour session), which is $0.015 on Starter. Plus includes 5,000 conversations and Elite 100,000 without that fee. Starter has unlimited agents, Plus 5 and Elite 10, then $15 and $12 per extra agent. WhatsApp fees are paid directly to Meta, at Meta's rates.
- Add-ons: 11 pre-built flows are included. A custom or edited flow is $5.99 a month, Instagram is $9.99 a month, and AI agents start at $24.99 a month plus $0.09 per resolution, or 3% of order value for the sales agent.

Worth a look if you run a Shopify store, want ready-made flows and prefer to pay Meta directly.
3. Interakt, a general tool with Shopify plans

- Entry price: on that listing, Starter at $21/month, Growth at $41, Advanced at $51 and Premier at $99, with a 14-day trial. Its US pricing page shows other plans: Growth at $55/month and Advanced at $69/month plus taxes on monthly billing, and a $12 Starter that covers Instagram only.
- What it charges for: the plan, plus WhatsApp charges by country. On the US page, "No Templates Markups" is listed on the Enterprise plan, so ask what applies to yours.
- Shopify: order notifications and abandoned checkout reminders. The listing puts the AI agents on Premier, while the US page sells them as a $74.99 add-on on Growth and Advanced.
Worth a look if you want a low entry price for order notifications and cart reminders, with Instagram in the same tool.
4. AiSensy, a general tool with a free entry plan
AiSensy is a WhatsApp marketing platform with broadcasting, retargeting, a shared inbox and a Click-to-WhatsApp ads manager. Its main pricing page is in rupees, and it has a separate page in US dollars.
- Entry price: on the US dollar page, a Free Forever plan without broadcasting, then Basic at $45/month ($486 a year), Pro at $99, Premium at $299 and Unlimited at $899.
- What it charges for: a flat plan, with no limit on the monthly active users you reach. WhatsApp credits are recharged separately and priced per delivered message by country. Chatbots ($80/month) and the AI Agent builder ($50/month) are add-ons.
- Shopify: Shopify and WooCommerce integrations start on Basic, with cart and order status messages. Basic includes 5 agents plus the owner, and 2 audience segments.
Worth a look if you want a plan that does not grow with your contact count, and a free plan to set up the API first.
5. SleekFlow, an inbox with AI agents priced on active contacts
SleekFlow is an omnichannel inbox with AI agents for sales and support teams. Its Shopify listing showed 3.2 out of 5 from 5 reviews.
- Entry price: on SleekFlow's pricing page, served in French from France with prices in US dollars, Essential at $49/month, Pro at $109/month and Premium at $279/month, billed annually. The Shopify listing shows $69, $139 and $349 on monthly billing. Essential is being rolled out country by country.
- What it charges for: the plan, by monthly active contacts. Pro starts at 500, then $20 per 100 more. Hosting a WhatsApp number costs $15 a month, plus conversation rates from SleekFlow's rate card.
- Shopify: the integration, broadcasts and AI agents start on Pro, which has a 7-day trial without a card.
Worth a look if your team sells through conversations on several channels and you want contacts counted only when they are active.
6. respond.io, workflows across many channels
respond.io is a conversation platform for teams on many messaging channels. It is not built around stores: its Shopify page says it has no native integration. It adds a chat widget, and order confirmations or cart messages go through Zapier, Make or n8n.
- Entry price: on respond.io's pricing page, Starter at $79/month, Growth at $159 and Advanced at $279, billed yearly. The page data lists $99, $199 and $349 on monthly billing. There is a 7-day trial without a card.
- What it charges for: monthly active contacts (people you talked to that month) and users (5 on Starter, 10 on Growth and Advanced, from $12 per extra user). Broadcasts, workflows and AI Agents start on Growth. Meta's fees are not included, and respond.io says it adds no markup on them.
Worth a look if you answer customers on many channels, and you have someone to build the store connection.
7. Gallabox, sales and lead qualification on WhatsApp
Gallabox is a WhatsApp and Instagram platform aimed at qualifying leads and closing deals, with AI agents and a lead pipeline on its higher plans.
- Entry price: in the US dollar view of Gallabox's pricing page, Basic at $112/month billed annually or $150/month billed quarterly, Essential at $248 or $331, and Advanced at $474 or $632. There is a 7-day trial without a card, and no permanent free plan.
- What it charges for: the plan, with a hard cap of 3 users and 500 AI credits a month on Basic. Its FAQ says WhatsApp fees are charged by Meta and reflected on your invoice with Gallabox's markup.
- Shopify: a $5 a month add-on, available on all plans. Its Shopify App Store listing read "not currently available" on October 30, 2026, so ask how the connection is installed.
Worth a look if WhatsApp is mainly a lead and sales channel for your team.
8. Trengo, a multichannel inbox with an e-commerce agent
Trengo is a shared inbox for email, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and more. Its site presents Dessa, an AI agent for e-commerce brands, and its Shopify integration brings customer context and the live catalog into conversations.
- Entry price: on Trengo's pricing page, Boost at €299/month billed annually or €349 month to month, for 10 users, and Pro at €499 or €599, for 20 users. The dollar tab converts these euro prices at a live exchange rate.
- What it charges for: users and conversations (a reply within a 7-day window). Boost includes 500 a month, then €18 per 100 on monthly billing, and conversations with AI carry a surcharge of €0.30 each. Beyond the first 1,000 service messages per number each month, Meta charges per message.
Worth a look if your support team works email, social and WhatsApp in one inbox, with 10 users or more.
9. 360dialog, API access per number
360dialog sells WhatsApp API access to teams that build on it. Its pricing page names no store integration, and it lists Zapier, Make and n8n.
- Entry price: on 360dialog's pricing page, Regular at €49, Premium at €99 and Scale at €500, per number per month. Premium adds inbox, sending, automation and measurement add-ons.
- What it charges for: the number, with Meta's WhatsApp fees on top.
Worth a look if you have developers and want API access at a fixed price per number.
10. Twilio, a programmable API billed per message
Twilio is a communications API. Its WhatsApp pricing page describes API access, not an inbox or ready-made store flows, so your developers build what you need.
- Entry price: on Twilio's WhatsApp pricing page, pay as you go with a free trial, and no plan to subscribe to. The page says its pricing is current as of September 2026.
- What it charges for: $0.005 per message, inbound or outbound, plus Meta's fees, passed through.
Worth a look if your developers already use Twilio and you want to build your own WhatsApp stack. Our comparison of WhatsApp Business API providers goes further on this type of tool.
If your customers are in the United States
Meta's documentation says WhatsApp does not currently deliver marketing template messages to users with United States phone numbers. This applies to Wati, to Kanal and to every provider in this list, so changing tools will not change it. Cart reminders and promotions do not reach US numbers on WhatsApp. Replies to customers who write to you and order updates are a different category. Our guide to WhatsApp marketing in the US explains what still works. Stores that need text messages can look at SMS, which Kanal includes from the Scale plan.
How to choose a Wati alternative
Start from what you sell and who will run the tool, then from what you want to pay for.
- You run an online store and want WhatsApp to drive sales: Kanal, or Zoko if you prefer to pay Meta directly and buy flows one by one.
- You want the lowest entry price with Shopify flows: Interakt, or AiSensy if you want a plan that does not follow your contact count.
- Your team works on many channels: SleekFlow, respond.io or Trengo.
- WhatsApp is a lead and sales channel: Gallabox.
- You have developers: 360dialog or Twilio.
Before you switch, check four things:
- Your real bill: plan, add-ons and messages at your own volume, for the countries you sell to.
- Your renewal date: Wati asks for a cancellation request at least 3 days before renewal, and subscriptions already paid are not refunded.
- Your data: export chatbots, templates and contacts before you cancel, and plan to rebuild your flows in the new tool.
- Your opt-ins: keep proof of WhatsApp consent. Kanal takes an import with consent, and your number can be migrated if it is not tied to a personal WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app account.
Summary
Wati is a broad WhatsApp platform with limits and add-ons by plan and message fees from its own rate card, so compare it at your real volume. If you run an online store, Kanal is built for that job, goes deepest on Shopify, starts from €89 a month and passes Meta's fees through at cost. Zoko is the other tool built around stores, the next six are general tools with varying Shopify connections, and 360dialog and Twilio suit teams with developers.
